Rated 2star for the Kindle Version; I'd say 4-5 Star for the book. Buy the book......do NOT buy the Kindle Version.Excellent recipes.....our dinner group made about 8-10 recipes from the book....all but one recipe was exquisite. I look forward to visiting Oleana Restaurant in Boston someday soon (this is the Chef's recipe book)Why buy the hard copy?The book is organized by spice and not by food category, which makes it interesting but something to be read, not just referenced.The eBook refers you to supplemental recipes by hard copy page but the pages do not align on eBook the same as Hard Copy, there are no shortcut links to the supplemental info and the search engine does not work well....VERY frustrating and inefficient. I'm using Kindle. Hope this helps.
A cookbook above all should be a source of usable recipes for meals. This book contains spice mix recipes, in-depth info on individual spices, sauce and condiment recipes, recipes with many unusual (seldom used) spices and complex food preparations. I couldn't find a recipe for a main dish that I has at least most of the ingredients, and I have an extensive spice collection including middle eastern spices. I will use this book more as a reference for spices vs actually cooking recipes from it. A bit disappointing it wont be a "go-to" book like other recipe books I have.
